All the 36 state governors in the country have agreed to launch a common initiative on ensuring peace and security. The Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF), which is the umbrella body for the state governors, said the initiative would be launched today in Abuja. NGF’s head of public affairs, Abdulrazaque Bello-Barkindo, said an interactive platform would hold as soon as the launch is over. He said the move “would support decision-making on security at the national level through the National Economic Council. “The initiative would also promote networking and synergy among state and non-state actors to enhance peace and inclusive security,” he noted.
